Cirque du Soleil’s ECHO has officially arrived in Denver, and it’s an unforgettable experience for families looking to be swept away by imagination, artistry, and heart. Blending breathtaking acrobatics with a whimsical animal-themed storyline, ECHO offers a fresh and deeply engaging take on Cirque’s iconic style, one that feels both innovative and emotionally resonant.

I received complimentary press tickets to attend this performance, but all opinions are my own.

This newest creation from Cirque du Soleil centers on the theme of connection between humans, animals, and the planet. With a live band that energizes the entire show, stunning set design and lighting that evolves throughout the performance, and colorful, imaginative costumes that bring the world of ECHO to life, the show creates an immersive experience from start to finish.

Attending the show with young children revealed just how magical ECHO truly is. Even my little ones were locked in from the first moment to the final bow. They were completely captivated by the movement, music, and visual storytelling. That alone speaks volumes!

The live music deserves special recognition. The band added so much energy and emotion, enhancing every scene and elevating the performance to something even more powerful. It’s an element that often goes unnoticed, but in ECHO, it was impossible to ignore, and it made all the difference.

The animal-inspired elements throughout ECHO are particularly charming for younger audiences. Characters embody creatures of all kinds through intricate costumes and movement, bringing a layer of whimsy and magic to the show. That said, a few segments take on a more ethereal, almost dreamlike quality... Mysterious and a little spooky at times. Nothing too intense, but worth noting for families with more sensitive viewers. It’s surreal in that signature Cirque way: enchanting, a little strange, and totally mesmerizing.

One character in particular, Ewai, quickly became a favorite. My kids lit up every time he appeared. What made Ewai especially delightful was how he was woven into the entire narrative, popping up throughout the show alongside the other animal characters. His presence gave the performance a sense of continuity and warmth. It felt like every time the energy got intense or the story grew a bit mysterious, Ewai was there to gently guide us through it all with a joyful bark or a little comedic moment. He brought levity and heart to the stage in such a genuine, delightful way.

The lighting and staging are equally impressive, offering visual surprises and beautiful transitions that keep the audience engaged. Every detail from the choreography to the costumes to the imaginative world-building feels intentional and artful.

What truly sets ECHO apart, though, is its heart. It’s not just a spectacle, it’s a story. One that encourages curiosity, empathy, and connection in a way that resonates with audiences of all ages.

Cirque du Soleil’s ECHO is now playing under the Big Top at Ball Arena in Denver for a limited time. It’s a show that will leave both kids and adults wide-eyed, inspired, and full of joy. For families looking for something extraordinary this summer, ECHO is a must-see.
